Spring Kit Nº5 – Orange

Orange is a colour that typically references hunting clothing and gear, to make sure you’re seen in the wild. It’s an appealing colour to me even though it’s presence is scarce in my closet. That being said, I compiled this kit around the bright orange camp shirt and this unsurprisingly perfect horizontal striped tie from The Hill-Side. Of course, the base of this kit is in the navy blazer and navy explorer pants, as wearing multiple shades of navy never hurt anyone. This new Standard Issue Civilian Blazer from Apolis most definitely has my name on it, paired with their persimmon pocket square. Let’s not forget about these handsome and oiled leather longwings from Alden x Leffot, which just so happen to round off this kit while adding the perfect texture. Monocle x Sunspel Briefs

Sunspel has been in operation since 1860 and were first known as a major textile producer in England before they began crafting underwear and casual basics from high quality fabrics and textiles. They recently collaborated with Monocle Magazine to create two versions of briefs made from an extremely soft and comfortable Egyptian Cotton in French Stripes. In all honesty, who doesn’t want to invest in quality made undergarments? “We have spent a century perfecting our underwear. These briefs are made from soft knitted cotton for support. We use exceptional quality Egyptian cotton, made by twisting together two threads for extra smoothness and strength.” Care: Machine wash at 40 degrees Dry flat Do not tumble dry Wash like colours together

Top 3 Pick Designer’s Men Shoes

Shoes are my addiction. That makes me a shoe addict. A shoe-addict’s life is dominated by the constant hunt for the perfect shoe. It’s not always about the pleasure of buying: sometimes it’s just good to know that something special is out there, available, and you can visit from time to time to say “hi”. It’s like the only thing I find more stress-relieving than smoking or good wine is stroking my favourite shoes. I would like to share my top three (3) pick of shoes that I consider perfect.   1. This shoe has a hybrid concept. It was made on a technical nylon and this is perfect for windbreaker jackets or some other type of outerwear. 2. Evolving classic lines with comfort. That’s what I best described this new designer men’s shoes. 3. And last, my favourite pair of shoes. I love this because it’s my safe pick shoe. I wear this if I am not sure if I should dress for the business meeting, or dress for the party. These shoes are perfect for any …

The GQ Dragnet: The Only Eight Tees You Need

You probably love the feel of your summer tees, but sometimes they just look so blah, right? Well,it doesn’t have to be that way. T-shirts with real style are out there, if you know where to look. We called in hundreds and tried them all on till we found the best you can buy. A Big, Bold GraphicT-shirts call for simple graphics, not intricate ones. This is your chance to get all Rothko. Note the shorter sleeves and how the tee hits just barely below the waist. That’s how a good tee fits. When you get a new tee, yank on the collar a bit. You don’t want it choked around your neck. It’s On Sale: Brooks Brothers and Lands End selections

Two sales worth mentioning: Brooks Brothers clearance section: Shirts available for $34 and sweaters discounted by 60%. The selection of good items is somewhat slim, but there are still a few notables. The blue bengal striped shirt above, for example, would work well in both casual and workplace environments. I just wore a similar shirt last night with khaki linen trousers and brown suede shoes. Lands End: Take 30% off your entire order with the code ENJOY30 and pin 1850. This includes stuff already in the sale and Lands’ End Canvas sections. If you spend over $50, you also get free shipping. The Silentist has a good run down of some things you can consider. The best deals, in my opinion, are probably the tailored-fit suit for those on a tight budget, as well as the knit ties.  For more sale announcements, you can join Put This On’s Inside Track for just five bucks a month. I list sales each week at the beginning of every edition.
