Year: 2015

#Goodbye2015

One day I was trying to update my blog because I kind of feel sorry for not keeping my blog on track the past few weeks. However, while staring at my laptop screen, I can’t seem to focus on what to write. I would say I have a lot on my mind that I want to share but I just can’t focus. Then I realized there’s nada worth sharing. All I can think of was negativity, and how the each year got worst. So, I decided not write and let my fingers decide on when, where and what to write. MON 12/28/2015 1800. The day Christmas break was over and I have to get back to work. (BTW, I work at night.) I can’t sleep this day maybe because I slept late on a Sunday night and woke up around 1200. Or maybe, I was just staring at the ceiling, contemplating of what happened with 2015. Okay, I was describing too much already. Let’s cut the chase and proceed with what my fingers decided to …

Casual Consumption No. 1

There is something about getting paid early at work this month that is making me worried for the first half of January. I get paid twice a month, and this December was on the 13th and the 23rd — which the second pay should be any day from 28-30. But since it’s holiday season, our company decided to release payouts early. So what bothers me is being happy I have two pays and might be impulsive to spend them during the holiday which if happens will result to critical week/s on early January. This is something I really have to plan properly and carefully. Scandal (TV) I didn’t even realize it was possible for me to finish four seasons of watching a single TV series. That’s a total of 78 episodes including season five since I have started watching it as well. The reason behind this was watching it at work and at home where I should supposedly asleep. Anyhow, who would’ve thought a political thriller genre type of show would be this exciting — …

Gaku Nakamura is a self-styled Japanese Ramen Consultant living in Manila. Last year, he listed his top 10 ramen with Ramen Nagi topping the list. But with a number of new and authentic restaurants popping up, here is some of Gaku-san’s top ramen for 2015! #5 Mendokoro Ramenba MUST TRY: Shoyu Tonkatsu Gaku says: “Mendokoro has tonkotsu-based ramen with chashu. The restaurant looks just like a Japanese-style kitchen and it reminds me of a good ramen restaurant in Japan, Afuri. The taste of the broth and chasu is very nice.” #4 Mitsuyado Seimen

Heads UJp! Gary V on Novuhair: Putting Energy Into Prevention

Nothing describes Gary Valenciano quite like his moniker “Mr. Pure Energy,” He is the very image of youthful vibrance, whether onstage or not. That’s why it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he values the way he looks the same way that he values the core of who he is: a prayerful, faithful husband, dependable father, and an outstanding entertainer. Part of what makes Gary stay young looking is his head of hair. What many people don’t know is that, like all other men his age, Gary once worried about hair thinning and hair loss. That’s why, at the first signs of the problem, Gary sought to find ways to prevent it from becoming worse. “I first noticed the hair loss in the shower, after I toweled my hair dry. Then one day, my team of hairstylists noticed that my hair was thinning, too. That’s when they told me to look for the product that Fanny Serrano was using, a product called NOVUHAIR,” remarked Gary on his journey to regaining control over his hair loss. NOVUHAIR is a …

Partners needed to help business integrate new powerful cloud telephony service in the Philippines.

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are seen to be as the solution for the inclusive growth not only in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) but also in the ASEAN Economic Community which is both taking shape this year.  Vinea Distributions, Inc. (VDI0, Knowlarity’s distributor in the Philippines calls on partners to help business integrate this new powerful cloud telephony service. “We are looking for partners and resellers who would join our journey in providing businesses with the capability to boost their business and increase their capacity to capture sales lead through Knowlarity,” says Jason Hidalgo, VDI Knowlarity Product Specialist. The cost of traditional PBX systems is limiting the growth of MSMEs because of the cost of installing the infrastructure and also maintaining high cost of communication charges.  SuperReceptionist, the initial product offering from Knowlarity is a hosted business phone system that allows you to record, route, forward, and track every call that your company makes or receives.  This new cloud telephony service practically replaces the traditional PBX systems ‘need to pay’ model with …

Friday’s 10 Happy Things Vol 2

It’s been a while since I last update the blog series – Friday’s Ten Happy Things. And I’m kinda feeling I’m back to blogging since work has been going light these past few days. Here’s volume 2 of what I’m happy about this Friday. Payday Friday! Done paying bills – credit card, Globe postpaid plan, save a few bucks for condo rent on the 30th. Went out to visit a local coffee shop in Makati with a long-time-no-hangout friend. I’ll write a separate blog post about this coffee shop soon. Was able to pull myself on not getting soft with someone I dated. He texted me and exchanged messages, but I kept my guard strong. I noticed my hair’s length is near my target. Though I still have to get the ear sides really long para swak na swak ibrushup. Started saving money in getting a Macbook. It’ll be a long journey. Haven’t had any lates at work since November 2. I’m looking forward to monthly perfect attendance. I need monthly incentive. Finished a Pinoy …

Coffee and Alcohol Together at Tipsy Beans, Mandaluyong

I was spending a lot of time checking the app Booky where tons of restaurants in the Philippines are listed. You can check restaurants by location, and the app also shows a top list of new restaurants and hot restaurants to eat too. And the nearest restaurant to where I stay in Mandaluyong is Tipsy Beans. It is located at 50 Domingo M. Guevarra Street, Highway Hills, Mandaluyong City, which is a trike away, just across California Gardens. Tipsy Beans, Mandaluyong Tipsy Beans is a place that makes you sober, tipsy, awake and relaxed at the same time. Sounds interesting, right? This is a quaint place for you and your friends.  So allow me to spend this whole post talking about how interesting and nice the space of Tipsy Beans is!
