Liebster Award 2016 x Peanut Butter Bites

Back in the year 2008, awards and “tags” were famous among bloggers. It was the year where you would find more bloggers across the globe. You would get to know more about a blogger if he or she gets tagged, and participated. Then years has passed, awards and “tags” became a rare thing on the blogosphere. So I would like to thank Mei for nominating me for Liebster Award. The Liebster Award 2016 is an award that exists only on the internet and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. The award is a way to be discovered but also to connect and support the blogging community. A great idea in promoting your own blog and others. Originally it was given out to blogs with less than 2000 readers but this has slowly lowed as the reward has gained popularity. It is now only 200 readers or less. If you …

Things I’m Afraid to Tell You

Three years ago, Jess Lively bravely started the topic “Things I’m Afraid to Tell You” that hit the blogosphere, and then nearly a hundred other bloggers followed.  I followed the trend two years ago and decided to write about the topic again. I’ve wanted to write about this for weeks already, however, I’m quite worried about this radical vulnerability, and considered it as a trap. At first, I’m not telling everyone my shit. I’ve been delving into a lot of feelings and thoughts winnowing which ones are “all right” to ration with the communal. I used to write in a very outspoken manner grasping how blogging is right now, and how the general public can cyber bully you. Exposing the naked truth about me is scary because you may laugh at me, or you may judge me. But upon getting lost reading a lot of bloggers sharing everything from their uncertainties to idiosyncratic secrets to anxieties and everything in between, I have to say, it was pretty affecting and inspirational. Now it’s my turn to …

Authentic Chinese Food at Oriental Palace Restaurant and Banquet Hall

One of the important factors to consider for a celebration is where to celebrate it. It may be for a wedding, birthday celebration, anniversary, Chinese New Year, graduation, small victorious celebrations, or simply to dine out with family or friends whether for big or small groups. Some would consider a place where everything is offered, and you no longer have to do anything but sit down, eat and nurture relationships and catch up. One place I could recommend is Oriental Palace Restaurant and Banquet Hall in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. Oriental Palace Restaurant opened their new location at Tomas Morato last February 2, 2015. It is owned by a Chinese family of a restauranteur. The restaurant offers a wide variety of scrumptious, savory flavors and touches of vegetables to all kinds of meat. At prima facie, you would think that the restaurant is small, but it could actually accommodate a total seating capacity of 800 persons and has a total floor dining area of 1200 sqm. The restaurant is the fruit of Henry Chua’s hard …

When Online Friends Finally Meet IRL

We met in a hotel along Shaw Boulevard, and went to have dinner, and enjoyed the night drinking in a bar. The identities that these two men presented on Facebook are the same as what they offered IRL. I had fun spending the night and the morning next day with Koi and Kenny. So let me share some part of my weekend on meeting Kenny and Koi, and our friendship. We guys are friends on Facebook and have been chatting for two years already. We exchange stories about our lives, give advises on whatever is having with our existence, and share jokes. Then we realized that we should set our friendship to the next level. With that, we decided to have a hotel stay and drink the night off. Thanks to HotelQuickly for the discount on our one-night twin room hotel stay. I checked in around 14:00 and waited for them to arrive. Red Planet twin room will fit for two persons but could accommodate 4 persons I believe as long as you guys will be …

All the Life Lessons Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Taught Us

Netflix is finally here in the Philippines, and a huge number of people are excited and are registering to get their streaming service. However, only 7% of Netflix shows are available in the PH as of now. You kind of need to use VPN to trick Netflix that you’re in a different location to access the rest of the 93%.[EDIT] You can check out Smartflix to access the entire Netflix catalog. One of the shows that made me binge watch on Netflix is Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. This Netflix original TV Series stars Ellie Kemper. Kemper has made us laugh with her stints on Bridesmaids, The Office, and now UKS. Kemper roles as Kimmy who tries to adjust to life in NYC after her rescue from an “apocalypse” cult in Indiana where she joined three other women. They were called the Indianan Mole Women. LOL. And she’s 29 years old. I finished the first season with 13 episodes, in three days. I realized after watching each episode that we would found an equally soft spot for the …
